News News impacting public employee union members Register now for OCSEA's 2009 Steward Conference
The annual OCSEA Steward Conference is set for 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Hilton Polaris / Columbus located near the OCSEA Union Hall. Please note this new location. The 2009 event theme, "Proud of the Past; Prepared for the Future," will explore the rich history of OCSEA stewards and highlight their contributions to the labor movement here in the State of Ohio and beyond. The steward's role is not limited to contract enforcement alone. It also encompasses all aspects of our members’ job security, including those affected by the budget and other political factors. These union activists serve as OCSEA's frontline warriors: Stewards are in the trenches and have the greatest impact when it comes to talking to members about workplace issues that affect them on the job and at home.
