Ronald Alexander served as President of OCSEA from 1984 through August 2007, and has served on the OCSEA Board of Directors since 1978.

Editor's Note: Eddie L. Parks succeeded Alexander and will serve through 2011 as the new union president.

A Design Engineer 2 for the Ohio Department of Transportation and member of Central Ohio Chapter 2513, President Alexander has been active in the union for more than 30 years. Alexander has served on every standing committee of the board and has served as our president during every negotiations since 1986.

Alexander also served as OCSEA’s interim executive director while that position was vacant and is a founding Trustee of the Union Benefits Trust.

As an AFSCME International vice president for 20 years, Alexander helps shape policy for our parent union and its 1.4 million members. He currently serves as chair of AFSCME’s Professional Advisory Committee. He is also a board member of the Ohio AFL-CIO.

Since 1995, Alexander has given us a voice on the Public Employees Retirement System board. He is also the chair of the Deferred Compensation Board.

Alexander has served as chair of OCSEA’s Governmental Affairs Committee and remains active in this area today as a registered lobbyist. He is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Wheeling College.
