Andy Douglas,
OCSEA Executive Director

Born in Toledo, Andy Douglas was elected to the Ohio Supreme Court in November 1984 and re-elected every six years until retiring December 30, 2002.

From 2003 until March of 2004, he was a partner in the law firm of Crabbe, Brown and James.

He became Executive Director of OCSEA in March of 2004.

Prior to sitting on the Supreme Court, Douglas served as a judge of the Sixth District Court of Appeals from 1981 to 1984.

He also was a member of Toledo City Council from 1961-1980. When he was elected to that post, he was the youngest council member ever elected. Douglas was also in the private practice of law from 1960-1980. Douglas holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Toledo.

A former professor at both the Ohio Dominican College and the University of Toledo Community and Technical College, Douglas won an award for Outstanding Young Elected Official in the Tri-State area and has been the recipient of numerous awards over the past 40 years.

The former justice has authored over 900 judicial opinions along with publications focusing on collective bargaining in the public sector.
