Kathleen Stewart ,
OCSEA Secretary-Treasurer

Kathy Stewart has been a Department of Administrative Services employee for 31 years.

She served as president of her DAS Chapter 2570 from 1987 until being elected OCSEA Secretary-Treasurer in 2004.

She became involved in the union as a steward in 1986.

She is a former District 6 Council secretary and has served on the OCSEA Board of Directors since 1987. She currently serves as chair of the Finance, Convention, and Women’s Action committees.

Kathy is particularly proud that the Women’s Action Committee has raised over $26,000 for the AFSCME’s PEOPLE program.

With only two exceptions, Kathy has served on every bargaining teams since OCSEA members obtained collective bargaining rights in 1986.

She is 1st vice president of the Central Ohio Union Label and Service Trades Council, vice president of the State Union Label Council and sits on the AFSCME Women’s Committee.

Kathy said that she is proud of her union activism and believes that a woman’s place is in her union – OCSEA!
