News Your web source on union-negotiated health care benefits Need your stories on healthy lifestyle, wellness for educational videoJuly 13, 2007 - Through the joint health care committee, the union has been working closely with the DAS Benefits Administration (BAS) department to roll out a new program entitled "Take Charge. Live Well," aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and good health choices. The program, which you will get more details about very soon, is expected to roll out this fall, with pilots anticipated in DAS, ODNR and DR&C. YOUR STORY The video will feature state employees who are committed to making a healthy life change or have already made a healthy life change AND have a good story to tell. They are not looking for super models or actors, per say, but, rather, average people who can speak eloquently in front of camera and who have a really great story to tell. FAMILIES Members may be asked to include their family members and favorite activities in the video as well. Ideally, the video will feature family members who could benefit from the program and a family history and/or disease that is motivating them to take charge of their health and wellness. Please contact Deirdre Wedig, OCSEA Communications, at 800-266-5615, ext 2604, or by email at doneill@ocsea.org.
