July 18, 2007 (updated 1:23 p.m.) - More than 200 union and management quality activists gathered today at the OCSEA Union Hall for Pathways to Excellence.
This one-day event was sponsored by the Ohio Quality Network, a group of labor and management quality coordinators who work within their agencies to preserve the quality initiative.
Three workshop choices were offered:
- Balanced Scorecard: A Blueprint for Successful Performance Management - Learn how to measure for best results.
- Labor-Management Relations - Learn how to jump-start your labor-management relationship.
- Facilitation Workshop - Learn about clearly defined basic principles for facilitating groups.
Event speakers include:
- Jan Allen, Cabinet Secretary - Office of the Governor.
- Boris Slogar, Executive Director - Ohio Partnership for Excellence
- Steve Wall, Administrator, Office of Quality and Organizational Development - ODOT
Allen shared Gov. Ted Strickland's vision for accountable government, the Accountable Government Plan (PDF):
- A results-oriented governance system that institutionalizes the way we do business and enables state government with limited resources to achieve the most for Ohioans.
- Ohio's roadmap to a lean, competitive, modern government that is a critical player in the state's economic growth.
- Designed to help Ohioans reconnect with their government and to align with other nationally-recognized best practices.
