Water and Wastewater Treatment Operators agreement provide opportunties for members
September 2007 - OCSEA members in August 2007 ratifiied a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that increased the number of qualified and certified water and wastewater treatment operators in the state parks.
The ODNR Treatment Plant Operator Pilot Project MOU:
- Creates new job opportunities: one full-time and nine part-time treatment plant positions would be created.
- Formalizes career ladders: After training is completed, employee would be reclassified as Treatment Plant Operator in Training (Pay Range 6). After passing EPA operator exam, the employee would be upgraded to a Treatment Plant Operator (Pay Range 8)
- Provides training funds by the union: Courses for the series can cost up to $535. The union-led Union Education Trust will pick up the tab for courses that are face to face.
- Allows OCSEA members the first opportunity to canvas for the available positions: OCSEA dues-paying members will have the first opportunity for positions.
