Resources

Board Policy No. 15 - Stewards (PDF)

AFSCME Steward Handbook (PDF)

Seven Standards - Often used by arbitrators in discipline cases

The OCSEA Board of Directors established Board Policy No. 15 (PDF) regarding steward:

  • selection
  • education
  • functions
  • incentives
  • maintenance

Stewards are technicians, not officers. A steward's length of service, however, is tied to the term of the appointing president. Also, education requirements, set by the board, must be met.
