NEW! Mar. 5, 2012 –OCSEA contracts with the State of Ohio have arrived and are available for pick-up by OCSEA leaders and staff. OCSEA members approve contract extension
Dec. 15, 2011 – Just in! OCSEA members have voted to ratify a three-year extension of their current contract with the State of Ohio. They voted overwhelmingly to approve the contract renewal by more than a 5 to 1 margin, with approximately 84 percent in favor and 16 percent opposed. Read more.

OCSEA Contract Tentative Agreement available online
The 2011-2012 OCSEA Negotiating Team made history when, on the first official day of Negotiations, they inked an agreement, which extended the current collective bargaining agreement for three years – without any of the concessions. In doing this, the Team ensured that the rights and benefits OCSEA members currently enjoy were protected.

The Tentative Agreement for this historic contract and other OCSEA contract resources are now available online. This includes the one-page agreement between OCSEA and the State of Ohio, housekeeping changes, ratification instructions and more. Get your contract and ratification resources.

Open ratification voting set for Dec. 12 at OCSEA
Dec. 8, 2011 – Weren't able to attend a chapter ratification event in your area? That’s ok! You can still vote on the OCSEA contract tentative agreement next week. OCSEA will hold “Open Ratification Voting” this Monday Dec. 12 from 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. at OCSEA headquarters in Westerville. Read more.

Nov. 18, 2011 (updated Nov. 22) – As OCSEA chapters prepare to move forward with the ratification process in early December, OCSEA President Chris Mabe asks that members join him for one of five regional meetings to discuss the HISTORIC recently agreed-upon contract. Read more.

OCSEA, State reach historic agreement to extend current contract
Nov. 16, 2011 – OCSEA sat down at the table this week with the State of Ohio to bargain their next three-year contract thanks to an overwhelming majority of Ohioans who rejected Issue 2 and restored the rights of public employees to collectively bargain. But in an unprecedented move, the State of Ohio agreed to extend the current collective bargaining contract with OCSEA for the next three years.
