This year’s Steward Conference will take place on October 2 at the Conference Center at Northpointe: 9243 Columbus Pike, in Lewis Center, OH, 43035 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Hotel
The special rate for the conference is $119.00. Members can make hotel accommodations online at the Conference Center at Northpointe website or by calling 866-233-9393. When registering online, members should put in the comment section that they will be attending the Steward Conference in order for them to get the special rate. When calling, they should mention they are attending the Steward Conference.
Workshops
- New Stewards Getting Started: Tips and advice on what new stewards need to know and the resources that are available to help get started serving in the role of a steward
- Ask the Experts: A panel of expert staff and experienced stewards will analyze questions from the audience and provide advice on how both union and management perspectives and interests should guide stewards in handling issues in the workplace
- Grievance Process-Tips, Timelines and Evidence: Hear from a panel of Experienced Staff Representatives and Union activists about how they process grievances. They will discuss timelines of a grievance, evidence to support a grievance and tips on to prepare the grievance to help discussions with the grievant and management for possible resolution
- Salary Continuation and Occupational Injury Leave Year 2: A discussion workshop covering Salary Continuation and Occupational Injury leave fundamentals and recent developments
- Tricks and Treats for Discussions with Management: Tips and advice on behaviors and techniques to use to help get management to see things your way and increase the likelihood of getting a grievance settled
- Weingarten Rights and Investigatory Interviews: Covers what rights members have to representation in discussions with management that can lead to discipline and the roles of the steward in such discussions
