About Endorsements

Committee guides endorsement process
Endorsements are meaningful to OCSEA members as well as candidates seeking office. Watch the video below of OCSEA Pres. Eddie L. Parks to learn more about the union's endorsements and mobilization efforts. Also, review the 2008 Endorsement Lists to identify union-endorsed candidates in your political district.

OCSEA is committed to supporting candidates who support our union members and the public services they deliver. OCSEA supports candidates who stand for:

  • Employment security and a plan to create real jobs in Ohio
  • Reduced taxes for middle-class families.
  • Lower health care costs and a crackdown on profiteering by the drug companies
  • Guaranteeing the promise of pensions and retirement income
  • Making our country safer and respected in the world
  • Quality educational opportunities for all.

As a core responsibility, each District Grassroots Committee (DGC) is obligated to conduct candidate screenings fairly, open to all candidates, and make recommendations to the Governmental Affairs Political Action Committee (GA PAC) for endorsements. DGC Chairs and DGC staff form a unique alliance to achieve these recommendations.
