News News impacting public employee union members Alexander reelected to pension board Oct. 5, 2006 - Although the results won’t be official for another two weeks, the tentative results of an Oct. 2 ballot count show that state employees have voted to return OCSEA President Ron Alexander to the Retirement Board of the Public Employees Retirement System. Alexander will serve an additional four-year term as the state employee representative of OPERS’s top policy-making panel. Given problems that have surfaced in other pension funds, Alexander campaigned on a platform of sound fiscal policy for OPERS funds, retention of health care benefits for retirees, and a strong voice for public employee interests.
