Speakers at this year’s event included first-time attendees Governor Ted Strickland and ODOT Director Jim Beasley. OCSEA President Ron Alexander also spoke on behalf of all union employees.

Total ODOT Performance (TOP) Awards, recognizing the outstanding performance of ODOT employees and teams in such areas as customer service, communication, facilitation, mentoring, humanitarian service and process improvement.

OCSEA President Ronald Alexander recognized Brian Stephens, ODOT District 4, for his outstanding public service efforts that saved a life. Stephens was presented with the Director's Humanitarian Service Award.

“It’s so great to hear that ODOT employees are out there saving lives. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after he told his story," Alexander said. "He is a true hero and I’m proud to call him my union brother.”

The event could not have been pulled off without the blood, sweat and tears of ODOT Union Quality Coordinator Willa O’Neill, her management counterpart Carol Schubert, their steering committee and OCSEA staff.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The next quality event is Pathways to Excellence to be held at OCSEA Headquarters in July. Plan to attend and see what your union brothers and sisters are doing to improve their workplaces.
