News News impacting public employee union members Governor talks quality at TeamUp ODOT Event May 11, 2007 - The 9th annual ODOT Team Up was held yesterday at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. Team Up is one of the premier Quality events in the state and recognizes the good work of ODOT employees. CLICK ON IMAGE BELOW TO START / STOP VIDEO. Speakers at this year’s event included first-time attendees Governor Ted Strickland and ODOT Director Jim Beasley. OCSEA President Ron Alexander also spoke on behalf of all union employees. Total ODOT Performance (TOP) Awards, recognizing the outstanding performance of ODOT employees and teams in such areas as customer service, communication, facilitation, mentoring, humanitarian service and process improvement. OCSEA President Ronald Alexander recognized Brian Stephens, ODOT District 4, for his outstanding public service efforts that saved a life. Stephens was presented with the Director's Humanitarian Service Award. “It’s so great to hear that ODOT employees are out there saving lives. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after he told his story," Alexander said. "He is a true hero and I’m proud to call him my union brother.” The event could not have been pulled off without the blood, sweat and tears of ODOT Union Quality Coordinator Willa O’Neill, her management counterpart Carol Schubert, their steering committee and OCSEA staff.
