News News impacting public employee union members
One-day steward event set for Sept. 29; July 10, 2007 (updated Aug. 14, 2007) - Union stewards wear many hats in their workplaces—leader, communicator, organizer, and representative to name just a few. Because stewards' daily efforts make lasting differences for union members on the job and at home, OCSEA has designed a one-day conference specifically for these frontline activists. The union also created the OCSEA Steward Recognition program to acknowledge the work these front-line activists do and encourage them to press forward. OCSEA leaders will highlight the program at the OCSEA Steward Conference set for Sept. 29 in Columbus, Ohio. It was introduced at the April 2007 Building Union Power event. This one-day event takes place 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Lunch is provided. OCSEA stewards may register online or call Sharon Henning at 800-266-5615, ext. 2656. The registration deadline is Sept. 21 See Related
