State to make two more OAKS-related pay check corrections

Aug. 7, 2007 - Agency payroll administrators were informed on Monday that OAKS-related pay check glitches will continue to be addressed on the Aug. 17 paycheck.

The State of Ohio today offered more information about what steps OAKS will take to correct mistakes related to longevity pay supplement and health care benefits deductions.

The union received the following notice that was sent to state agency payroll officers:

Benefit Deduction Make-Up Payments Appearing on 8/3/07 Paychecks

Dave Holbrook, HRD OAKS Support

In the July 30th communication from Jim Knight, agencies were given a list of their employees, as well as an amount that was to be withheld from the employee’s compensation. Later today, you will receive the SAME list with any balance that is still due from the affected employees in your agency.

This list contains more details of how the amount was configured, and contains a list of scenarios that may have caused the deduction to occur.

The issue of the half-month additional deduction will be addressed on the next paycheck scheduled for August 17, 2007.

A list of impacted employees who will receive a refund for the excess make-up payment will be sent out to you later this week.

In summary, your agency will receive two lists. The first list that your agency will receive either today or tomorrow will show a more detailed view of how the deductions were taken.

The second list that your agency will receive either Wednesday or Thursday will show those employees who will be receiving a refund due to the additional half-month deduction.

If you have questions, please contact the HCM Customer Service Unit at 1-800-409-1205.

The second notice copied to the union included the text below:

Longevity Pay Supplement Retro Adjustment

Agencies will be receiving a list of employees who are due a retro pay adjustment (RPR) due to problems with longevity pay from pay end date 7/7/2007, pay day July 20th.

This list represents employees who are to receive an adjustment of anywhere from $5.00 to $19.99.

Specific additional pay posting instructions will be provided. All issues concerning employee longevity pay supplement due to the recent 3.5% pay increase should now be fixed.

If you have any questions regarding employee longevity pay, please contact the HRD HCM Support Unit at 1-800-409-1205.
