Vote YES for new ODNR positions;
OCSEA must receive ballots by Aug. 20
Aug. 14, 2007 - OCSEA and management in ODNR have finally agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would increase the number of qualified and certified water and wastewater treatment operators in the state parks.
Union members who are eligible to vote must mail their ballots to OCSEA Headquarters by Monday, Aug. 20. Votes will be counted on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

The ODNR Treatment Plant Operator Pilot Project MOU would:
- Create new job opportunities: one full-time and nine part-time treatment plant positions would be created.
- Formalize career ladders: After training is completed, employee would be reclassified as Treatment Plant Operator in Training (Pay Range 6). After passing EPA operator exam, the employee would be upgraded to a Treatment Plant Operator (Pay Range 8)
- Provide training funds by the union: Courses for the series can cost up to $535. The union-led Union Education Trust will pick up the tab for courses that are face to face.
- Allow OCSEA members the first opportunity to canvas for the available positions: OCSEA dues-paying members will have the first opportunity for positions.
Please note: While you personally may not be interested in these positions, a YES vote will help your union co-workers who are interested.
