News News impacting public employee union members UET moving from SSNs to employee IDs; database to be down Jan. 11 for conversion Dec. 26, 2007 - To better protect participants from identity theft, the Union Education Trust is converting from using Social Security numbers as an identifer to employee identification numbers (EID). Beginning Jan. 12, 2008, individuals who go online to the Union Education Trust website to apply to receive educational assistance or to check their individual education assistance account balance must use their EID. In order to make the conversion, the UET database will be down for a short time on Jan. 11, 2008. UET participants who have questions regarding this conversion or who require help accessing their account information while the system is down, should call the UET hotline at 866-436-7900 or email UET support. |
