Making Change Happen:  Ohio’s Blueprint to Elect Labor-Friendly Candidates

Workshop Leaders: Ben Waxman, AFL-CIO, along with OCSEA Operations Director Bruce Wyngaard and AFSCME’s Patrick Burk

We learned in 2006 that when Ohio’s labor movement works together we can change the political landscape. Labor was the greatest single force that helped elect Democrats to Ohio’s key state-wide offices in 2006.

Ben Waxman, Statewide Coordinator for Ohio’s Labor 2008 initiatives will take you step-by-step and show you how your local chapter can have an impact on the upcoming elections. You will learn about the AFL-CIO zones and the role they play in mobilizing activist.

You will see first-hand how your local chapter can work with other local unions to support Labor 2008 initiatives at the grassroots level.

Patrick Burk and Bruce Wyngaard will discuss OCSEA/AFSCME’s support for Labor 2008. At the end of this workshop, you will be prepared to go back to your chapter and make “Change the Matters.” LEARN MORE
