News News impacting public employee union members Team Up ODOT, Roadeo held together May 6 May 7, 2009 - A large crowd of ODOT workers came out for the first-time collaboration of two very popular annual events Wednesday, May 6. The Director’s Cup Roadeo took place next to Rhodes Center at the Ohio Expo Center, where Team Up ODOT was in full swing. Many who often attended one event but not the other were pleasantly surprised at the change in scheduling. “ODOT is a favorite department of mine and I feel like I am a part of it,” said OCSEA President Eddie L. Parks. Inside, booths surrounded the walls of Rhodes Center, promoting good health, safety, fitness, environmental consciousness, and more. The union's OCSEA / ODOT Assembly was represented with a booth and photo display. Outdoors by the Roadeo, outside equipment demonstrators showed crowds their skills in using stackers, culvert cameras, pike pavers, blade runners, and more. Lunch was provided by OCSEA at noon. In the morning, coffee and donuts were sold, profits of which will be donated to charity. After lunch winners of the 2009 TOP Awards, or Total ODOT Performance, were presented, as well as awards for the winners of the Roadeo. “We are so grateful for your support,” said ODOT Dir. Jolene Molitoris to OCSEA members. “It is truly representative of our partnership.” The Roadeo winners were as follows: Loader: second runner up, Matt Lust, District 3; first runner up, Graham Bartram, District 9; winner, Alan Taylor, District 1. Truck: second runner up, Matt Lust; first runner up, Allan Murray, District 10; and winner, Frank Daley, District 1. The TOP Award winners were:
