Members encouraged to explore ODJFS job opportunities
Aug. 7, 2009 – Thanks to funding expected to come down from the U.S. Department of Labor, the Department of Job and Family Services anticipates it could see job increases – NOT reductions – over the next few months.
It is anticipated that 30 positions in the agency’s Unemployment Compensation division will be posted as soon as next week with 30 more to follow in the coming weeks. An additional 40 positions in the agency’s Local Operations division will likely be posted within the next month.
OCSEA members who work in ODJFS as well as other members looking for a career change or those impacted by recent layoffs are encouraged to apply for these positions.
Over the next few months, state employees should make a habit of monitoring the State of Ohio’s employment website and apply for these positions as soon as they are posted. Ohio’s Hiring Management System is available online at http://careers.ohio.gov
