News News impacting public employee union members Union grieved to learn of member’s death on job May 6, 2010 - Officials at the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association were saddened to learn that one of their own was killed in the line of duty Thurs., May 6. Ohio Department of Transportation Highway Technician Shawn Blubaugh died while in a work zone along U.S. Route 36 in Knox County. “We are grieved to hear about the passing of our union brother Shawn,” said OCSEA Pres. Eddie L. Parks on Thursday. “He was a hard-working and dedicated employee, and a valued union brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.” Calling hours for Shawn are from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 10. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11. Both will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church at 307 Market Street in Danville, Ohio.
