Prior service credit for vacation now in effect

July 14, 2010 - Effective July 1, 2010, employees who provide valid documentation to their agency Human Resources department for prior service are eligible to receive credit for prior service towards their vacation accrual.

As a result of last contract negotiations, employees who have prior service with the State, Ohio National Guard or any other political subdivision of the state can receive additional credit toward their vacation accrual.

However, only employees who got their paperwork to the Dept. of Administrative Services by June 18, 2010 will have their credit retroactively adjusted to July 1, 2010.

Requests received after June 18, 2010 will be processed and take effect starting the pay period immediately following the pay period that DAS processes and approves the request.
