News Advisory News impacting public employee union members For Immediate Release: July 16, 2007 Cleveland-area BWC employees to host legislator walk-thru On Tuesday, July 17, 2007 beginning at 10 a.m. union leaders who work for the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation will host a legislative walk-through of the Garfield Heights BWC service office. Leaders of the state’s largest public employee union, the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association, want to give legislators a glimpse into the work they do and the valuable services they provide to the citizens of Ohio. The union-sponsored event, entitled “A Closer Look,” is meant to cast a positive light on the work of the bureau and its employees. “This event is an opportunity for our legislators to get a positive perspective on how the Bureau works – from our members who do the job,” said OCSEA BWC Assembly President Lawrence McKissic Jr. “We want to show how efficient we are at our jobs and how knowledgeable we are about workers compensation.” Date: Tuesday July 17, 2007 Confirmed special guests include:
OCSEA represents approximately 36,000 state employees, with approximately 1,700 in BWC. For more information, contact Deirdre Wedig, 614-865-2604 (office), 614-804-4834 (cell), doneill@ocsea.org. |
