Union says merging agencies not answer to budget
Oct. 27, 2009 (Columbus) - Members of the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association held a press conference today to explain why a proposal to “restructure” state government and cut the state workforce by 25 to 30 percent would be foolish. Groups unite in opposing pension fund reduction
June 24, 2009 (Columbus) – Governor Strickland’s announcement that the State of Ohio would significantly lower its pension contribution share from 14 to 8 percent of pay for state employees in order to help offset a budget hole is being met by strong protests from a wide variety of groups. Union family saddened by ruling on officer’s death
May 22, 2009 - Columbus – Members of the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association who work in the Department of Youth Services are reeling from the news this morning that their colleague, Juvenile Correctional Officer William Hesson, died in the line of duty as a result of an assault by a youth.
