Dr. Mary Lou Shaw discuss the state of our health care system and the
plan Physicians for a National Health Program recently published for achieving
universal health coverage.

Simply Living's Health Assurance Group
came together in February 2003 to find a way to achieve health coverage
and better health for Simply Living members and others who share the same
quest. Discussions have covered a range of options for living healthfully
and seeking change in a health care system that is not working for us.
This group has presented three previous educationals,
all of which have been excellent and well received.
Mary Lou Shaw, M.D. is a Simply Living
member, and a member of Physicians for a National Health Plan. She also
is working with UHCAN Ohio and Single Payer Action Network in an effort
to achieve universal health care.
Mary Lou is a family physician from Washington
Courthouse, Ohio who has joined PNHP because of her profound belief and
experience that the present health care system is in need of massive overhaul.
Mary Lou provides health care to underserved areas.
When she delivers this talk she will have just
arrived back from Alaska where she is providing primary care services
in remote areas.
