News Your union web source on IT employment security and good government OAKS continues to cause headaches Oct. 28, 2009 - A series of recent payroll mistakes by the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) has led to a request by OCSEA to reinstate meetings to look at how to improve the failing system. Most recently, OAKS has had several issues in dealing with dues deductions for intermittents. No union dues were taken out for two pay periods in September and when OAKS tried to right the wrong, it failed to factor in that many intermittents don’t work 80 hours. To date this issue has not been resolved, but the union has been told that the correct adjustments will be made to intermittents’ checks in the Nov. 6 pay period. “Our new members are rightfully upset. OAKS has created a fiasco,” said OCSEA General Counsel Sandra Bell. “OAKS can’t continue to make these mistakes; this issue needs to be addressed.” See Related
