Nominate a co-worker for outstanding community service; Secure donation for deserving charity of recipient's choice Deadline: April 1, 2011 - Apply today
News reports say that giving to charities and non-profits is down this year, but you can make a difference and secure a $500 donation from the union in honor of the next OCSEA Horizon Award recipient. All you have to do to qualify the OCSEA "do-gooder" is submit a completed nomination form by April 1. The award winner will be selected and announced this summer. This is your chance to shine the light on good deeds of others and secure a little cash for a deserving cause. Find out how to nominate someone now. ABOUT THE AWARD The Horizon Award recipient will be honored at a special ceremony and presented with a plaque at a 2011 OCSEA Board of Directors meeting. In addition, OCSEA will make a donation of $500 to the charity of the recipient's choice. OCSEA's Horizon Award is given each year to one member who demonstrates positive service to the community or individuals in the community, or who has performed an act of heroism in the past year. NOMINATIONS Union members have the opportunity to nominate their co-employees or chapters to be recipients. The Board's Membership and Public Relations Committee serves as the panel of judges.
