About
The OCSEA scholarship program was created over 20 years ago to help union members
and their families with education costs for their children. Over the years, the union has expanded it to include scholarships for spouses and members.
In 2009, the OCSEA Board of Directors expanded the Les Best Scholarship amounts from $6,000 to $12,000 and doubled the Spouse's category award. This year, OCSEA will fund the Pat Callanan-Castro Memorial Book Scholarship, doubling the amount awarded in previous years.

Les Best Scholarship Members’
College applicants are also eligible for a book
scholarship. Two $250 book scholarships are awarded annually.
The Pat Callanan-Castro Memorial Book Scholarship was established originally by OCSEA District 1 in 2007 in the name of OCSEA activist Pat Callanan-Castro, an avid reader and a lifelong learner. OCSEA continues to carry on this scholarship in her honor.
