Family Fun Day coupons available this summer for members only; Boycott affects some Summer Fun coupons

June 23, 2005 - The Tri-County Building and Construction Trades Council of Northeast Ohio has called for a boycott by union members of two Ohio amusement parks. The boycott was announced as a result of the hiring by Cedar Fair (owner of both Cedar Point and Geauga Lake) of non-union companies for a $26 million water park project at Geauga Lake.

You are asked to honor the boycott in support of our union sisters and brothers. Until this issue is resolved, it’s important to know there will be no staff manning the Group Sales booth at Cedar Pointand Cedar Point will probably not honor the discount coupon for that park. Do keep the coupons for Cedar Point and Geauga Lake in case this situation is resolved later this summer. Should the boycott be lifted, staff will be on site to exchange the coupon for the discounted admission ticket.

No other coupons were affected. You can still enjoy a summer of fun with your family when you visit any or all of the amusement parks, waterparks and zoos at special AFSCME Family Fun Days discounted prices.

OCSEA will keep members informed of the situation as it unfolds.

Simply print cut out the coupons from the website (color ink on white paper); Present the coupons with your OCSEA/AFSCME or Retiree Chapter 1184 Union Membership Card for your discount.

The coupons will not be available in the OCSEA magazine, Public Employee Quarterly, as in past years.
