BWC privatization initiative back in committee Nov. 9, 2009 - In June 2009, union activists in the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation fought off legislation to study turning over BWC to private insurers. Despite these efforts, the issue has resurfaced with the introduction of Senate Resolution 118. “While a resolution does not have the same power as a bill, it sends a message that OCSEA cannot agree with,” said BWC Assembly President Lawrence McKissic. “Activists must send a stronger message right back.” FULL STORY
