News OCSEA backs Tilling for OPERS Board Sept. 9, 2005 - OCSEA is supporting James R. Tilling for the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System Board of Trustees. Tilling, from Hilliard, was appointed as a retiree member to the OPERS Retirement Board and is temporarily serving until the election is held. Previously, Tilling served on the OPERS Board for several years as the Attorney General’s representative. During both tenures, labor representatives on the OPERS Board, like OCSEA’s president Ron Alexander, found Tilling to be someone who was willing to listen and act on union members’ concerns. They also felt that he was willing to put the interests of OPERS participants and retirees ahead of political considerations. Ballots have been mailed to retirees. The deadline for returned ballots is Sept. 30. Voting can also be done by phone at 800-303-7885. See related
