April 22, 2008 – The union's Bargaining Advisory Committee is set to meet on Saturday, June 21, following the OCSEA Board of Directors meeting. This committee — comprised of board members, district council presidents and assembly presidents — gives input and reviews membership feedback on contract negotiations. The union originally had anticipated gathering this leadership group on April 26. However, the date was pushed back to ensure the fullest consideration of member survey responses which continue to pour into OCSEA headquarters. "Participation in the 2008 Membership Bargaining Survey has been quite strong," OCSEA Executive Director Andy Douglas said of the survey response forms mailed to all union members in March. "Your answers will help shape the Negotiating Team's priorities and strategies for bargaining later this year." Completed surveys are due by May 1, 2008. See Related
