Bargaining presents many opportunties to the union in terms of securing a good contract and building union power, including the following goals:

• Protect workers rights won through collective bargaining.
• Protect quality of work life.
• Protect workers economic conditions.
• Increase rate of eligible bargaining unit members voting in the collective bargaining agreement ratification vote.
• Negotiate a fair contract ratified by bargaining unit members.
