UQN reviews 2005 results, moves forward

Jan. 17, 2006 - As the Union Quality Network (UQN) began the new year, the committee members looked back at the accomplishments of 2005.

The UQN is very dedicated to its monthly meeting schedule and works hard to move goals and objectives forward to meet the needs of OCSEA members who want to become more involved in quality within the agencies and workplaces.

Take a few minutes to review our results. If there is anything you want to know more about, contact Sandy Trout at 614-865-2614, toll free 1-800-969-4702 ext. 2614, or strout@ocsea.org.

Watch this website for a list of goals we will be working on in 2006.

1. Four Newsletters were published and distributed at OCSEA functions, via the OCSEA website, and through the Union Quality Network.

  • February
  • April
  • July
  • August

2. Convention

  • Yellow bands stating that “Quality Rocks” were handed out to convention delegates.
  • We asked delegates to complete a short survey providing us with valuable information - 214 surveys completed.
  • 87 members who completed the surveys asked to be contacted.
  • A letter and other quality information was mailed to them.
  • Currently the Union Quality Network is in the process of personally calling survey respondents.

3. OCSEA hosts a Pathways Event – July 19, 2005

  • Planned by the UQN. John Vineyard, an expert on the Malcolm Baldrige criteria spoke to over 30 attendees at the ODOT auditorium after work on November 16th. This was a very interactive presentation and gave the attendees an opportunity to ask questions pertinent to their agencies and worksites.

  • Joey Smith – Public Safety

6. The UQN had booths at the following conferences.
