The OCSEA Education & Development Department designed E-Learning courses for:
E-Learning is Convenient. You can work through the materials when it suits your schedule. Need a refresher? The material is always available.
E-Learning is a good way to learn more about your union. Considering running for an elected office - perhaps treasurer? Not sure what a steward does? Resources for both are online.
General Membership These courses cover a broad range of topics - all relevant to any OCSEA member.
- Collective Bargaining - Learn how your voice can be heard to determine your wages, hours of work and conditions of employment.
- OCESA History - How the union has grown from 150 members in 1938 to nearly 38,000 protected by collective bargaining
- OCSEA Structure - How is OCSEA governed and what role do you play in your chapter, assembly or district?
- How to be an activist - The union gains it strength through numbers; caring and concerned government workers who stand up for their rights. This course presents ideas and ways you can speak-up and actively participate in Union activities.
- Vote Smart - In this timely training, members explore the linkage between work and politics and identify ways they may take action to impact the election. Though Election Day 2004 has passed, this module is very important as we prepare for the gubernatorial race. You may also request a CD-Rom by contacting the education department. (August 2004)
