With more union activists approaching retirement, it’s imperative that OCSEA begin building the union’s strength among young members. Could the “impending crisis” of an aging workforce be an exaggeration? We don’t know. What we do know is that people are living longer and working longer. But, the last thing OCSEA wants to do is do nothing at all. That’s why it’s important that current union leaders pass on their knowledge and mentor the “next wave" so that the upcoming generation is prepared to pick up the lead – both in the workplace and in their union.
