Healthy Families Act Why get involved?
Workers should not have to choose between a paycheck and recovery when they get sick. However, that is the plight of 48 % of private-sector workers and 79 % of low-wage workers who lack a single paid sick day. Sure, OCSEA members get this union-negotiated benefit through state and local government contracts. But what about members' working spouses, parents, children and neighbors? The Ohio Healthy Families campaign needs your help gathering petition signatures (PDF), spread the word, and be a part of the campaign. There's lots to do. Volunteer options include:
