Mark your calendar for a few important dates, based on the Secretary of State's 2008 Ohio Election Calendar.
April 18, 2008 - Building Union Power 8 Conference; Hyatt on Capitol Square, Columbus.
April 19, 2008 - Building Union Power 8 Conference; Hyatt on Capitol Square, Columbus.
Feb. 4, 2008 - Deadline to for voter registration for primary election (30 days before the election), on March 4, 2008
Feb. 8, 2008 - Primary Election absentee ballots must be ready.
March 1, 2008 - Applications by mail for absent voter ballots must be received by boards of elections by noon (three days before election).
March. 4, 2008 - Primary Election Day
- Polls open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- Absentee ballots, other than those of overseas and armed service voters, must be received by boards of elections by 7:30 p.m
- Voter or voter’s minor child hospitalized because of medical emergency, voter may apply for absentee ballot until 3 p.m.
Sept. 30, 2008 - General election absentee ballots must be ready (35 days before the election).
Oct. 6, 2008 - Deadline to register for general election (30 days before the election), on Nov. 6, 2007.
Nov. 1, 2008 - Applications by mail for absent voter ballots must be received by boards of elections by noon (three days before election).
Nov. 3, 2008 - Absentee ballots may be voted in person at boards of elections until the close of their business hours (day before general election)
Nov. 4, 2008 - General Election; Polls open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
