 STATE BUDGET
Strickland cabinet members, legislator and policy expert address OCSEA leadership

CLICK TO ENLARGE: Tax Commissioner Rich Levins addresses OCSEA leaders at March 8 budget training held at OCSEA headquarters.March 8 - 9 , 2007
- One week before the full budget is due out, OCSEA leaders gathered at union headquarters for a March 8 - 9 budget training.

The crowd of more than 100 subordinate body officers and activists today also heard from budget experts, policy analysts, and a state representative.

Although many union members and leaders had hoped for a less bloody budget battle this time, several factors are weighing against supporters of government service.

Leaders were warned, however, of the shortfall that will only get worse in 2010 when a number of business tax and personal income tax reforms are fully phased in. Other budget experts spoke, too.
