News Your source on political action, voter info & legislation GDC hosts finance subcommittee chair Stewart March 27, 2007 - OCSEA members at the Gallipolis Developmental Center hosted a tour of their facility for Representative Jimmy Stewart, chair of the finance subcommittee for health and human services agencies. Stewart was shown all around the sprawling campus, meeting with dozens of employees, staff and residents.
The group that included ODMR/DD Deputy Director of State-Operated Services Mike Snow and the department’s new Legislative Liaison Kathy Allen, also visited the off-site workshop, one of the few state-operated day program centers in Ohio. MH/MR/OVH Assembly President Monty Blanton and GDC Superintendent Don Walker led the tour. OCSEA is conducting tours of DCs, prisons and other state facilities prior to and during state budget hearings in an effort to familiarize key legislators with the work of state bargaining unit employees.
