News Ohio AFL-CIO to host 7th Biennial Statewide Legislative Conference March 28, 2007 - In 2006 Labor was successful in helping to elect progressive candidates to the Ohio legislature. Now the Ohio AFL-CIO is asking for our help in meeting with members of the General Assembly to promote an agenda that supports working families and the middle class. We actually have a fighting chance to move legislation that would benefit workers, but we cannot do it without you. The Ohio AFL-CIO is holding our 7th Biennial Statewide Legislative Conference – Together As One – on May 8 and 9, 2007, at The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel, in downtown Columbus. Conference registration will begin on May 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a brief delegates meeting to review the conference agenda. There will be a legislative reception for the delegates from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. On May 9, we will have registration and a continental breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the Conference will convene at 8:30 a.m. The agenda is in the development stage, however we expect to discuss legislative issues surrounding jobs, education, health care and the state budget. Meetings between conference delegates and their legislators will be scheduled by Ohio AFL-CIO staff prior to the conference. These meetings will take place on May 9 between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., depending on the legislators’ availability. The cut off date for room reservations is April 17, 2007. Please complete the delegate registration form (PDF) and return to our office as soon as possible but no later than May 1. Checks should be made payable to “Ohio AFL-CIO.” See Related
