News Your source on political action, voter info & legislation Union activists successful: Senate's budget version includes state-operated MRDD pilot June 5, 2007 - MR/DD activists are congratulating themselves on getting the first ever state-operated community services program for individuals with MR/DD written into a budget bill. Activists were finally successful on the Senate side in getting a pilot MR/DD community residential program for the Gallipolis Developmental Center area. Now the question is whether or not the pilot has the staying power to endure the conference committee. The conference committee is made of members of both the House and Senate and is the final showdown where budget deliberations take place. Stay tuned!
