AFSCME affiliate leaders plan Labor 2008 activities April 1, 2008 - More than 100 of labor’s top AFSCME activists in Ohio met over the weekend to discuss strategy and gear up for the 2008 election in November. Members of the OCSEA Board of Directors joined with the top leaders from the other AFSCME affiliates in Ohio: AFSCME Ohio Council 8 and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees / AFSCME Local 4.
OCSEA President Eddie L. Parks addressed the crowd, indicating that the only way to turn Ohio blue in 2008 is to work together. He also invited all the affiliates to participate in OCSEA’s political action conference, Building Union Power 8, coming up April 18-19. Several other union leaders and friends of labor also spoke at the event:
