News Your source on political action, voter info & legislation JFS members answering PEOPLE call; July 16, 2008 (updated July 23, 2008) - Join the OCSEA / ODJFS Assembly for its annual phone bank. The event is set for Sat., Aug. 9, and it will run 1 - 3 p.m. or immediately following the OCSEA / ODJFS Assembly meeting. The assembly meeting was originally scheduled for Aug. 2, but was moved to the following Saturday.
Participants will call other OCSEA members about signing up for PEOPLE, AFSCME’s political action committee. PEOPLE – Public Employees Organized for Political and Legislative Equality – uses voluntary contributions, not union dues, to promote issues and candidates that benefit OCSEA members and their families. Phone bank participants receive $25 awards for their two-hour contribution. Lunch is provided for those making phone calls. To RSVP for the Aug. 9 phone bank event, call Linda Gaus at 614-406-4303.
