Local leaders participate in PEOPLE Seminars hosted by District Councils

Click here for more information about the union's PEOPLE program.May 14, 2009 - OCSEA is delivering PEOPLE Seminars for each District Council this spring and summer to help local union leaders identify those interested in politics and PEOPLE as well as to provide the support and resources chapter committees need to be successful.

OCSEA District Councils 6 kicked off the union's seminar series on Monday, May 4. PEOPLE stands for Public Employees Organized for Political and Legislative Equality.

Additional seminars currently scheduled include:

  • May 19, 2009 (Tuesday) - District Council 2, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at UAW Hall, Cincinnati.
  • June 24, 2009 (Wednesday) - OCSEA District 8, Hampton Inn, Athens.
  • June 27, 2009 (Saturday) - OCSEA District 5; Time and Location TBA in Zanesville

PEOPLE is the union's Political Action Committee (PAC) and is the instrument OCSEA / AFSCME Local 11 uses to amplify the voice of public employee union members in the Ohio Statehouse and Washington, D.C.
