July 13, 2009 - As congressional committees continue to review and mark up of H.R. 3200, America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, AFSCME's three Ohio affiliates have joined forces to organize a statehouse rally to build support for a labor-friendly health care reform agenda. Mark your calendar for 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, in Columbus. Gather with other union activists on Third Street in front of the Ohio Statehouse. OCSEA members are encouraged to attend and wear AFSCME Green in solidarity and support of quality, affordable health care for all. Remember, governments' ability to balance budgets is impacted, too, by rising health care costs. Though OCSEA members and their covered family members have good health care, this national crisis impacts everyone — including public employee union members who deliver vital public services funded by shrinking tax dollars. The health of our state depends on getting the truth out about real health care reform and moving Congress to act now!
