News Your source on political action, voter info & legislation NATIONAL CALL IN DAY
Oct. 6, 2009 - The clock is ticking. The health care reform bill is anticipated to get a vote in Congress in the coming days. Union members across the nation are calling their legislators on Wednesday, Oct. 7, to demand real health care reform and a stop to the harmful Senate provisions. While the union favors the House version (HB 3200) of the bill, health care insurance reform advocates say the Senate version is problematic for working families and public employee union members because it lacks a public option. Why does this matter? Eventually, a final Senate version will be voted on before a congressional conference committee reviews both versions and drafts one final bill for both houses to vote on. Problems with the Senate version:
OCSEA Pres. Eddie L. Parks is asking union members and their families to participate by calling our U.S. Senators and asking them to stand up for real health care reform. It's quick and easy. Sample Script - Dial 888-460-0813
