| State Budget News Bush to arrive in Ohio to sell tax cut idea April 24, 2003 - In anticipation of tomorrow's visit to Canton and Lima, Ohio by President Bush, the House Government Reform Committee Democrats have released out a report on the impact of the President's tax proposals on Ohio. The report can be found at: Additionally, yesterday the House Appropriations Committee Democrats noted that according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Ohio has lost 167,800 jobs, or more than 3% of its total workforce, since Bush was sworn in. More specifically, the Canton metropolitan area has lost 6,300 jobs (3.43% of its workforce) and the Lima area has lost 2,500 jobs (3.18% of its workforce) since Bush took office. |
