Get Involved Connect to identify threats, develop strategies Often, it is on the front lines of state government that signs of privatization are spotted first. OCSEA has been teaching union members —because public employees know their customers and what resources it takes to get the job done right—to identify staff, equipment, budget or legislative changes that smell of privatization before it happens. The key is to sound the alarm early and work through the union to keep public services public. If you're interested in connecting with other union members on fighting privatization: Once any of the early signs of contracting out have been noticed, it is important to begin collecting information and preparing for action right away.
