Breaking News!The Career Improvement Program has been increased to $3,500, effective immediately. This increase approved by the Union Education Trust Board of Trustees means that eligible state bargaining unit employees now have a total of $5,250 available through all three UET educational assistance programs. UET Implements Procedures to Help Members Save $$$If you receive more than $5,250 in paid educational assistance within a calendar year, you may be subject to income tax. The income tax liability applies to educational assistance benefits you receive from UET and from your employing agency. You may avoid a tax liability by claiming that the assistance you receive is for a qualified work related course.
